What are the hours of operation for Hampton Coliseum?

The Hampton Coliseum Administrative Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. If you have specific questions please contact us at 757-838-5650.

How are the festival dates determined each year?

The Hampton Jazz Festival is always held during the last full weekend in June each year. For example, in 2012 the dates were June 22, 23 & 24, and in 2013 the dates are June 28, 29 & 30.

When do you announce the performing artists?

The announcement is made, typically, around early March.

How do you choose the performing artists?

Each year festival organizers evaluate all the available jazz, R&B and blues artists that are on tour during the time of the festival. Our goal is to select and assemble the best possible entertainment package and offer it to you for a reasonable price. Of course, we take your comments into consideration during the selection process. We welcome your input.

Why do you announce the artists so late each year?

It is the nature of the business. The announcement is subject to confirmation by the artists, and it is done as soon as possible.

When do tickets go on sale?

Typically, the same week as artists’ announcement.

What time do doors open for Hampton Jazz Festival?

Doors open 1 hour prior to the event start time. Please refer to specific event day for exact door time.

What is the difference between festival merchandise such as T-shirts for sale in the parking lot and on the streets, and those sold inside the Coliseum?

The only place to get official festival merchandise is inside the Coliseum. Merchandise for sale outside the Coliseum is produced and sold by bootleggers, and is frequently inferior in quality and carries no warranty.

Are cameras allowed for Hampton Coliseum events?

Non-professional cameras are permitted for most performances (palm-size or smaller, no detachable lenses). No audio or video recording is permitted for any performance unless otherwise specified. Please refer to event page for event-specific camera policy.

What is the best way to keep up with the most up-to-date festival information?

Where is the lost and found located at Hampton Coliseum?

Lost and Found is located in the Administrative Office which is inside the front lobby. For more information, please call 757-838-5650.

Can I smoke at Hampton Coliseum?

Hampton Coliseum is a smoke-free facility. Smoking is permitted only at designated areas outside the building.

Once I enter Hampton Coliseum, am I allowed to exit and re-enter using the same ticket?

Hampton Coliseum has a no re-entry policy for ticketed events. Any guest who leaves the facility during an event will be required to purchase another ticket to gain admission.

What items are prohibited from entering Hampton Coliseum?

These items include but are not limited to: illegal weapons, illegal drugs, laser pointers, outside food & beverage, bottles and coolers.

Does the Coliseum offer food and beverages for sale?

Yes, the Coliseum offers a full menu of concessions items including alcoholic beverages. Coliseum policy prohibits guests from bringing food and beverage items into the building.

Parking

Is there a charge for parking?

Parking is free for all Coliseum event guests. See our Directions and Parking page for more information.

Where is your handicap parking?

A limited number of designated handicap parking spaces including van-accessible spaces are available. These spaces are for vehicles displaying a current state issued disability placard or license plate. Spaces are filled on a ‘first-come’ basis. Drop-off may be done at the concrete balls in front of the Coliseum and in the I64 lot until the lot is full.

Ticketing

How do I purchase tickets?

Tickets may be purchased at the Hampton Coliseum Box Office and at all Virginia, Maryland and D.C. Ticketmaster ticket centers. Guests can charge by phone by calling 1.800.745.3000. Guests can also order online at www.ticketmaster.com.

Where is Will Call?

The Will Call window is located inside the main lobby immediately to the right. For tickets purchased through Ticketmaster, Will Call may be printed at any ticket window.

Do you have discounts for large groups?

How do I purchase tickets for people with disabilities or special needs?

Accessible seats may be purchased at all Ticketmaster master locations and in person at Hampton Coliseum Box Office. There is a limit of 3 companion seats with each accessible seat purchased.
